A Message From our Friends at the Dixon PTO...

The Madison staff got into the spirit of Halloween as the cast of Despicable Me.

DPS 170 wishes Steve Marco a Happy Retirement from WIXN after 45 years promoting our schools, athletics, and activities! Thank you, Steve! You are the "spirit" of Dixon!

For our October Attendance Challenge- Madison classrooms with daily attendance at 95% or better were able to cast their vote for Mr. Sagel's Halloween costume! The results are in- Mr. Clean is the principal of Madison School today!

I want to congratulate Liz Bushman, this week's Spirit Award Winner! Liz is being recognized for really going the extra mile to engage her students! If you go into her classroom, you will see her infectious enthusiasm that spreads to all of her students. She has made "Genius Hour" an integral part of her classroom where students pursue their passions and push themselves beyond where they thought was possible. She even has a student working on starting a new club at school (more details to follow)! Well done Mrs. Bushman!

Congrats to our Madison Positive Office Referral winners! Keep up the good work!

The Kiwanis Kids Club will be selling ghost pops next week before school. All proceeds will be donated to a local charity of the kids choosing.

Attention DPS Families! Please take a few minutes to complete our short survey on Whitsons. We'd love to hear what you think, and your feedback makes a huge difference! Scan the QR code or click this link https://xmp.insight-surveys.com/s/ql9jfi

A message from Dixon PTO...

Behind every thriving school team is a principal who leads with vision and heart. During National Principals Month, let's recognize the leaders who make collaboration possible and success achievable! #BePurple

Finally- Mrs. Bork was our Spirit Award winner for this week! She continues to go above and beyond for students and staff to make Madison a better place! Mrs. Bork jumped in to help when a fellow staff member was out and helped transition her teaching partner back just in time for conferences! Thanks Mrs. Bork for all you do!

Ms. Nolan was another spirit award winner at Madison! She has gone out of her way to help with whatever anyone needs across our building on multiple occasions. Ms. Nolan is someone that can be counted on to step in to help without being asked and helps kids even if they aren't in her homeroom because she wants to make our school a better place to be!

Catching up on Spirit Award Winners at Madison!
We have our dynamic duo in the office- Mrs. Nelson and Mrs. McPhillips! They have been amazing the past few weeks helping out with absences and always handling any challenge with a smile! We appreciate them always helping with anything asked!

Parents-
Dates/times have been set for classroom parties this year.
They will be on the following dates from 1:30-2:30:
Friday 10/31, Friday 12/19, and Friday 2/13.
Just a reminder that if you have your license scanned and get a badge, that is good to get you in for the rest of the school year. We hope many of you will be able to attend! Also, thanks in advance for donating and helping the teachers as they organize their individual parties. We appreciate all your support!
