Dear Parents/Guardians: 3/25/22
During this school year, Madison School will once again be participating in a program designed to educate children about sexual abuse prevention. The presentations and program materials are provided by the YWCA of the Sauk Valley’s Sexual Assault Department. The Sexual Assault staff receives their funding, education, training and material from the Illinois Coalition against Sexual Assault. Presentations will be held in Madison classrooms on Monday 4/4 and Monday 4/11.
Presentations are conducted by trained employees of the YWCA and the materials used in the presentations are appropriate for the child’s age and teach the children the facts of child sexual abuse and their vulnerabilities at different ages. No violence or sex is depicted. Clear distinction is made between normal, healthy affection and sexual abuse.
You may choose not to have your child participate in this program if you wish. If you
do NOT want your child to participate, please send a note to the school or contact your school office.
If you have any questions about the program, you may contact me at (815) 284-7726 or Deb Walter, Education Coordinator, at the YWCA of the Sauk Valley, (815) 625-0333.
