“A Place to Grow”

Dear Parents -                                                                                     4/20/20

I wanted to thank you for all of your efforts to support our students and teachers during these unprecedented times.  I’ve had the opportunity to speak with many parents and I am moved with the stories of those struggling with lost jobs, stress and anxiety, new babies, and deaths in families that have all continued to happen amidst the current crisis.  It is a uniquely difficult time for all of us and we don’t want to add to your burden at home.  We realize that everyone is in a different situation and we want to make this work for each individual student while helping each student to be prepared as best as possible for the next grade.  Grades are not our top concern and we are more than willing to individualize for your child to keep them learning to their maximum potential.  If you are unable to get all the assigned work done, please let your teacher know so they can make the adjustments your child needs.  Our teachers are making every effort to continue to check in regularly to make sure your child continues to progress.  If you have any difficulty connecting with your teacher, you may also contact me at school by phone or email if I can help in any way.  Every child and family making a good faith effort to participate in remote learning in some form and working together collaboratively with their teacher will be assigned a grade of “pass.”  Please give yourself permission to focus on the well being of your family first while continuing to keep learning going as best you can in this unique circumstance.  We are grateful for all your hard work and are here to serve!  Families have a variety of different needs and expectations related to Remote Learning, but we are committed to continuing to walk with you as we learn and grow through these uncharted waters.

Gratefully,

Mr. Sagel, Principal Madison School
